With a decade of artist development and marketing experience, Brianna DeMayo is dedicated to giving artists structure and helping them build leverage and ultimately make money doing what they love. Through her company, Taste Creators, and her new knowledge-based platform, Music Business How To, she works hands-on with artists (and their teams) to ensure they understand how to navigate the music industry and get their music out there on their own terms. She assists with their personal development and branding, finding their target audience, marketing strategies to help them grow and engage their fan base, developing their online presence; plus helps them grow their community by implementing their newsletter, helps them make money by selling merch and much more.

She has coached, represented and booked hundreds of artists and aspiring entrepreneurs from all over the globe and is deemed as one of the “Top 5 People All Aspiring Hip-Hop Artists Should Follow Immediately”.

Known for her music industry knowledge, her articles have been spread by industry leaders such as ASCAP, CDBaby and Wendy Day. She has spoken at numerous festivals, including the A3C Festival in Atlanta, and her music showcase, Philly Sound Sessions, was named by Complex Magazine to be one of the best networking events to attend in Philadelphia.

Her company, Taste Creators, has worked with a wide range of clients including Casey Veggies; Grammy award winning producer, Chase N. Cashe, hip-hop legendary emcee, Bahamadia; New York budding artist, China Mac; and many others.

Her motto is that, “The music industry has changed, therefore your strategy must change with it.” She believes that we are living in the age of the “music-preneur” where artists need to take their career into their own hands, and build their own leverage in order to succeed. This stems from her previous experiences as a recording artist at a young age, where she found herself not as in control of her career as she wanted to be.

Background

Growing up engulfed in music, Brianna actually started off on the creative side, recording her first song at age 11, and performing throughout her elementary and high school years including appearing on Amateur Night At The Apollo at age 14 (where her group won three times in a row). She continued to perform on various radio stations, festivals, television shows, and clubs in New York City and Philadelphia, all by the age 17. At that point in her career, there was no control or say in decisions. Discouraged, she decided to take a break with music and ended up finding her way into the real estate industry where she developed a knack for marketing. It wasn’t until years later when she found herself slowly but surely getting back into the music industry, this time, on the other end of the spectrum.

Meticulously studying the business side of the music industry, she spent a lot of time simplifying the information and tweeting tips for indie artists. This turned into writing “how-to” articles for sites such as Rap Rehab and HipHopSince1987, which was the start of her new journey in the music business. As her articles began to spread, her network began to grow and she was beginning to get support from those she looked up to, such as music industry veteran, Wendy Day.

Still working in real estate full time at that point, she was able to network in her spare time and began working hands on with artists. She worked for free, taking every opportunity to gain as much experience as possible.

This series of events lead to her combining her real estate marketing and music business experience for the launch of Exclusive Public. Upon the launch of her own company, she was fired from her job at the real estate office, which she saw as a blessing in disguise because it gave her a chance to fully focus on doing what she loved. Two years later, Taste Creators was born, and In her eyes, her journey has only just begun.
